“Youth for Change” Vanadzor Ten Sing Festival 2015» back
This is really a great success we have reached 500 people.
In the scope of Vanadzor YMCA and Oslo YMCA/YWCA long-term partnership 8 Norwegian young girls visited Armenia for the annual study visit on September 28th – October 5th, 2015. The main aim of the visit was the experience exchange between Armenian and Norwegian youth via organizing a TenSing (TS) Festival.
The project was very diversity as we gathered in Vanadzor YMCA Aramian Campsite with 45 young people from different local YMCAs including the Syrian Armenian YMCA Initiative Group and the Norwegian team in order to prepare for our big Ten Sing Festival. This was a great space for many young TS participants to show their talents and to be involved in different activities.
During the preparation process of TS Festival ‘’ Youth for Change’’ local YMCA participants learned how they can make a successful Festival. It was really a great learning process and fun time together.
The main team group together with the other participants from different local YMCAs and 8 Norwegians made all the TS preparations the first for the concert, which includes songs, dances, dramas and the second for the open- air workshop which included a seminar ‘’ Gender Equality’’, games, zip-line, arts and crafts etc.
So we had two big events one was an open- air workshop and the second ‘’ Youth for Change ‘’ TS concert.
The workshops went really well, as we had various groups and the visitors had many options to choose whatever they liked.
On the 1st of October in Vanadzor Center a wonderful Ten Sing concert was performed for the audience comprising of our friends and family members other people invited from the community. We had also a special guests ‘’ Vordan Karmir’’ rock band, thank you to this group to for supporting us. This was a great chance to motivate and involve more young people from the community as volunteers for the organization and TS youth project promotion. The audience enjoyed the show greatly and were impressed by the work these young people had done.
We are so much thankful to our Norwegian partners for their support and of course our Vanadzor volunteers and local YMCAs participants for their input.
